Tuesday


TuesdayDay 2 of the week. That could be why it’s called Tuesday. Today is “2′s Day” another new day. Been known by other names as a matter of fact. From Shrove Tuesday and Super Tuesday to Patch and Black. It means ‘fire day’ in 火 Korea and Japan. “Mars” day to those whom are astronomy fans. The day after “1 day”, ☾* Moon Day, or Manic Monday.   • In the Greek and Spanish world, Tuesday is considered an unlucky day. For both Greeks and Spanish-speakers, the 13th of the month is considered unlucky if it falls on Tuesday, instead of Friday. In Judaism, on the other hand, Tuesday is considered a particularly lucky day, because in the 1st chapter of Genesis the paragraph about this day contains the phrase “it was good” twice.
  • In the Thai solar calendar, the day is named for the Pali word for the planet Mars, which also means “Ashes of the Dead”
  • The color associated with Tuesday is pink.
  • In the folk rhyme Monday’s Child, “Tuesday’s child is full of grace”.

History

The Great Chicago Fire of 1871
The Great Chicago Fire’s aftermath that wiped a third of the whole city, including the entire business district. The fire raged from October 8th to October 10th, 1871, killed hundreds, and destroyed roughly 3.3 square miles.

Children that are affected by the Stock Market Crash of 1929 or The Wall Street Crash of 1929 due to unemployed parents in late October 1929 and was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its fallout. The crash signaled the beginning of the 10-year Great Depression that affected all Western industrialized countries.
